Don’t delete the old game just in case.

Install 1.18-ElAmigos to different drive. Then run the game.

If there is no save problem, delete the old game.

Don’t expect a CODEX update/game. The ElAmigos release uses codex crack. Just delete your old game. Install v1.18.00-ElAmigos.
