Same issue here, only thing I can do is delete the old saves (make backup save files first) then you can start a new game.
old saves are in: users/*yourname*/appdata/roaming/EldenRing/*17 numbers […]

@boboman @Rig Did you guys turn off in-game overlay? I had to in GeForce experience to get it to work. hope this helps
