not working on windows 10 64 bit, new crack or update required because of black screen

After playing for a while (3~4 hours) the game starts to change the Display Mode from “Windowed” to “Full Screen” nonstop, if you try to close and open the game again it happens instantly, the only way to play the game is pressing ALT + Enter, go to Display Mode and change to “Borderless Windowed”, but the problem is that the game stutters in areas that need more of your PC. I play in Windows 7 64 bits.

Getting a black screen followed by a crash after 5-10 seconds when I start the game. DX12 & latest gfx drivers installed. Tried fiddling with DX and Fullscreen settings in .ini file but no dice. Also eliminated any overlays that may be interfering with your overlay handler. SPEED over QUALITY, CODEX? 🙂

I used to get the Black Screen Crash, I tried running it as an Administrator, It didnt work then I plugged my Controller and tried again… and it Worked…so for the ppl having this problem should try this.

Black screen and crash upon starting the game FIX!

Go into BIOS and disable “CPU Virtualization”. I have an i5-3350P and it worked for me. I can start the game, still haven’t played long enough to see if it crashes elsewhere, do have that in mind.

I downloaded everything and cracked truely. But when i try to run the game a black screen comes and a few seconds later it crushes without any report. I tried to close virtualization , start it when controller plugged in , installed directx’s vcredits , uploaded gpu. I got gtx 1070 8gb ram and i7 3770k cpu. Any time soon you gonna post a crackfix? Or any way to fix it ?

Is anyone else concerned about the packed.vmpbad!gen46 file found in the crack? This isn’t your typical steam.api.dll file. What is this packed file? Antivirus software labels it a Trojan, is this a false positive like with all the other cracks for games?

game seems playable, but for me it crashes every 10 minutes or so in both DX11 and DX12
it’s still possible to make progress by saving here and there but it’s certainly annoying
gonna try the newest AMD drivers that supposedly improve RE2 performance

DIsabled the SVM, keyboard problem persists. If a joystick’s plugged in the game automatically starts to move the initial settings options up. Rly hope there’s a fix for this. Tested on OS Windows 8.1.

Now your Windows time should be formatted as

1 – FOR INITIAL SETTINGS PROBLEMS: I just installed the Windows 10 1809 and my problem became the ” black screen shut down”. Than i installed DIRECTX direct from the folder and IT WORKS!!!

2 – NOW my problem is the audio. The voice of characteres is TOO low. Some characteres i can’t even listen. I tried everything in the game and it doesn’t works. It’s not a problem in my headphone, i tested.

just another question, the game works smoothly for me. as long as i dont use higher resolution. im playing with 1280×720. it was a surprise for me that the game actually works fine because i bought my laptop in september 2018, the game just came out so i wasnt expecting it to work. but there is some things i notice that even when selecting lower graphics settings still persist. i notice in some areas it lags but for some seconds, like walking around the main hall where you meet marvin, around that area there is like a lag zone, also in some areas in the sewer. also in the graphics section i get a message that my graphics memory has been colored red due to high usage and that serious bugs may ocurr or something like that. my specs are: amd ryzen 3 2300U with radeon vega mobile gfx 2.00ghz. 12gb ram. so i think i have enough memory lol. any ideas/help? anyone also have that graphics memory colored red thng?

So i was having the black screen crash and all the fixes online didnt work for me. remember reading something to upgrade my windows to 1809 and i just recently reseted my laptop and had it in 1709, so i upgraded to 1803 because 09 i remember made some games laggy at start up when they were perfectly before, and still had the same error and i was like frustraded because it took me almos 2hrs to upgrade my windows.

So i was lookig to the folder (install directory) and _Common Redist folder they are two subfolders: one DirectX and the other vcredist. So i open the directX and thought about installing it (even though i have the latest direct11 and 12 and the installer said it was 9.0 but guess what? after installing i launch the game and now it works!!! at least for me that worked. So anyone with the black screen crash still not having any luck, try installing directx from the common folder in the installed directory 😀 hope it works for you as well. SO THANKS CODEX, HOPE YOU UPLOAD THE NEXT DLCS AS WELL

So I downloaded Windows Media Player from Microsoft page, here its the link: microsoft.com / en-us / software-download / mediafeaturepack
Just download the version that actually are you running on your OS and install it.

Após várias tentativas mal sucedidas, consigo resolver o problema com CRASH e BLACKSCREEN.
Basta apenas instalar o DirectX que vem dentro da pasta do jogo _CommonRedist.
Funcionou perfeitamente!

Right click on the shortcut go to properties select minimized on run and Windows 8 on compability, this worked for me.

Don’t bother dling this one. This is shit. I was trying to find the more updated one (but non RT for mods) that I DL-ed before, played, and then deleted, but this is not the one. I thought since it was Codex that it could be trusted for quality. But quality nothing. This is trash. First off, you have to mount ISO and install it. It was slow to boot up the game, whether for the first time or continuation. Then when I played the game, it only had the Noir/Military costumes as well as only the Samurai Edges in storage. I thought “that’s weird. I remember other deluxe weps being available right from the getgo”. And then that’s when I realized that there was a update DLC file in the link box. Why the fuck didn’t Codex release a new bundled up package, like what some other groups do? Instead I had to DL these update one by one and update it myself each time I reinstall the game? Oh hell no. Not to mention, as some of these comments stated, they are missing an update. And I did remember the tofu/Hunk content. And there wasn’t any in this game. So if they just simply gave the Deluxe content but not the additional final contents, then this release is worthless. I wish I had left a comment when I was dling this game of which one was the one I played before. Then I wouldn’t had to deal with this crap. This may work with mods (not that I could check all of them since not even the models were unlocked at the beginning to check), but this wasn’t worth it. I avoided P2P one because I wasn’t sure which one to get DX11 or 12 since I remember DLing one of them and it was a RT ver, therefore not mod compatible. So I didn’t want to waste time, and yet here I am…

Avoid this and save yourselves some headaches.
The RESIDENT EVIL 2 REMAKE DX11 V27.04.2023-P2P version is better. Loads much faster. And actually can launch with Fluffy (forgot to mention this codex trash release couldn’t even boot up through Fluffy’s launch game button….).

So much for quality content from Codex. Those people who bashed on Codex regarding DRM was correct, they truly were a shell of their former selves. Don’t even care about updating properly or posting out quality content. I for one am glad that they did disband, cuz if that’s the type of work they are going to put out, even if they are doing it for free or meager donations…

As I always like to say, if you can’t be bothered doing it right, then don’t bother doing it at all.
