It says I cannot update from 4.1.1.4251417 GOG to 4.1.1.4425968 GOG. Is there an update missing?

It says the same for me, cannot update the game from 417 GOG to 968 GOG patch, it says “this patch doesn’t support your version of the game please download a new installer”.

Nothing. This is not the right patch. I have the last but can’t install this one.
There was a patch called “Release – v4.1.1.4251417 Patch5_Hotfix4 + Japanese” with Build ID. 57149562190557008 between v4.1.1.4251417 and v4.1.1.4425968. that was never released for GOG offline patcher. That’s why this patch in not working.
You could try to edit the Build ID. to 57149562190557008 in your Windows Registry to make it work but I’m not sure if this has any negative effects.

Double click “buildId” and change “57140536252542675” to “57149562190557008”
Then double click “ver” and change “Release – v4.1.1.4251417 – Patch Patch5_Hotfix4” to “Release – v4.1.1.4251417 Patch5_Hotfix4 + Japanese”
Yes, I know.
But there is a chance that you could corrupt some of the game files if you skip a patch and apply one that is not meant for the currently installed game version.
So, if someone wants to try, making a backup first would be a good idea.

Open Registry Editor
Navigate to “Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\GOG.com\Games\1456460669”
Double click “buildId” and change “57140536252542675” to “57149562190557008”
Then double click “ver” and change “Release – v4.1.1.4251417 – Patch Patch5_Hotfix4” to “Release – v4.1.1.4251417 Patch5_Hotfix4 + Japanese”
After that the installer will be able to work as intended.
P.S Don’t add the quotation marks when you edit.

Can anyone show all the Baldur’s Gate 3 keys in the registry? it can be print. There’s nothing there in my registry, and it’s the GOG version too

I was just going to Process Monitor the patch to see what buildID it was looking for in the registry… but looks like someone’s already done that. Although editing the registry will make the patch install, as someone as said, there’s a reasonable chance you’re going to break something because you’re skipping a patch. Even making a backup and testing isn’t a guarantee that something else didn’t break in another part of the game you haven’t reached.
@Nobody it simply adds the option to install a Japanese lang pack to the selection box and has no other change so if you want japanese and hit the lang options with that installed then it will show up in the last to be downloaded
also be aware there are code changes in hf15 that Larian didn’t bother to tell us about so following guides on how to get Karlach and Wyll or Karlach and Minthara will not work the way it used to and offen crashes your game now
