Is 1070 enough for this game or should I upgrade? Is this a GPU demanding game? Found this gameplay on YouTube.

At bare minimum the game only requires an NVIDIA GTX 760 or AMD Equivalent.

The Recommended Requirement is: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (6GB), or AMD RX 480 (8GB).

So if you have an NVIDIA GeForce 1070, then that should be enough for you to play the game, but just keep in mind that the power and capability of your Graphics Card or GPU is not enough if the listed CPU for the game’s own system specs does match what your own PC hardware has.
If you have an Intel CPU it needs to be at least an i5 or an i7 to provide enough processing power to handle running the game effectively enough together in harmony with your GPU / Graphics Card, and for AMD processor types, it needs to be at least within the range of today’s modern CPU processors for AMD.

I’m not sure how you missed seeing the System Requirements for the game, but they are at the very top of this page and can be accessed just by clicking on the link for SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS.
The same system requirements can also be found at the GOG store page for the game itself.

A YouTube video for the gameplay of Wasteland 3: Digital Deluxe Edition isn’t going to tell you what system hardware specs you need to have for your PC to run the game on.
You actually need to do the work yourself and look into it to see whether you can run the game or not by checking the minimum system requirements for the game, and if it exceeds or matches what is listed there under the bare minimum requirements, then that should be enough to tell you that you can or can’t run the game.

I’m having stutters only during combat for no apparent reason and there’s not even frame drops. Anyone else with this problem? It’s very annoying. ( i7 8700k – RTX 2070 – 32GB RAM – SSD )

There are a few things you can do to help improve your gameplay. I will list these steps to follow below. See which one helps you best at resolving your current issue.

      1) First, if you haven’t already done so, check the game’s system requirements and match them against your own PC System Specs. Look at the game’s minimum system requirements, your PC System specs need to match or exceed what’s listed there in order to play the game effectively without issues. If the game’s minimum system requirements list CPU, GPU, and the amount of RAM needed to run the game and it matches or meets what you have in your own PC then you are good to play it.
However, if the game’s minimum system requirements don’t match or are far above what you currently have in your own PC System Specs, you are going to have issues with either your CPU, GPU, or even RAM if you don’t have the sufficient hardware to support the game, and it could also under perform and cause crashing and other issues.

      2) If you have the sufficient PC hardware to run the game on at least the minimum system hardware requirements, then the next step is to check that your Graphics Card or GPU drivers are up to date with the latest driver version. So, if you have an NVIDIA or AMD graphics card, go to the appropriate driver support page to download the latest driver for you Graphics card.
Outdated drivers can often cause issues, and where something like a graphics card or GPU is concerned you can see anything from graphical glitches, to video stutters, and even crashing issues, if your graphics card driver isn’t up to date with the latest release version.

      3) If you are running on Windows 10 OS, then you will want to make sure that you have automatic Windows Updates enabled, so that you can ensure that you never miss out on the latest build version for the type of Windows 10 OS version that you are using, as this will also ensure that there aren’t any arising issues with an outdated build that may have some bug related issues in it.

      4) Some of today’s modern Gaming PCs and Gaming laptops have a special feature in the Bios known as Turbo Boost which can help boost the performance level of either the CPU or the GPU, if you have such a feature in your Bios, you will need to restart your PC and boot into the Bios to disable it if it is enabled.
Depending on the type of Graphics Card or GPU you have, some newer graphics cards do not need to have Turbo Boost enabled in the Bios, as the more modern cards will already be powerful enough to handle all the graphical requirements of the game you are playing.
Older cards on the other hand may need Turbo Boost enabled in the Bios. You should check your PC Manual to see what function key to use to get into Bios.

Again, this all depends on whether you have Turbo Boost, and what type of Graphics Card you have, Old or New.

If you are still having issues with your game after going through the steps I listed above, then go into the game’s options or settings, and enable or disable any graphical or enhancement features under Video, then go back into the game to see if it helps improve your gameplay.

If you are still at the point where you are getting stutters during combat, then once again go back into options, and under Video, adjust and set all settings to Medium or Low.

If this still does not help to resolve your current issue with gameplay, then it may be related to the build of game that could have a possible bug related issue.

In this case what you can do is message me by clicking on my name, as you are a member here, and send me a message with a subject line that relates to this game, and I will help you in looking for the latest and up to date build version of the game. All you need to do is click on my Username, and then send me a message, and I will see it and respond.

when I change the language to French and save it, I have the game in the good language but when I restart it, the game come back in english with the french option activated in the settings o_O…
    Any idea ? @tekmarvl ?

Sounds to me like you are having an issue with the game not saving the selected audio language that you want to use which is French.

The part where you say that you restarted the game is where I am a little confused. Do you mean to say that you played the game through to the end, or that you began a new game without saving your current progress?

If you start a New Game for example, it is possible that any previously saved game data, along with any saved Preferences (saved game settings in the game’s options) can be overwritten as well and can possibly revert back to the game’s default settings, especially for the game’s audio which would default back to English audio. This could also happen if there is an issue with the game being able to save your progress or the game’s settings and preferences not being saved due to save data corruption or a bug in the game, even though you are sure that you saved it.

There have been some reported issues with the game prior to the release update for the GOG version 1.01 or J2324_(40800)_to_J2340_(40863).

Some of these issues prior to the latest patch update v1.1.0 for both Steam and GOG versions of the game included:
Issues with Launching and Saving and the cause being related to some Anti-virus programs falsely detecting the game’s executable as being a virus, which in fact it is not.

The game’s developer’s have addressed a quick fix / solution for that here:

Also, the Autosaving feature in the game has been reported to be an issue as well, and again a quick fix / solution was made available from the developer’s to address that issue, which can be found here:

As of this post, the developers have announced the release of Wasteland 3 – Update v1.1.0, which presently isn’t available here yet for download.

However, in the meantime you can click on the CHECK UPDATE link at the top of this page to get the available update patch v1.01 or J2324_(40800)_to_J2340_(40863), or you can get it directly from this zippyshare link here too:

Just apply it to your current game version like you would if you were installing the game. When you run the patch update, the installer will automatically detect the drive and directory where the game was installed to and apply the patch in the correct location.
It may help to fix the current issue you are having with saving your selected game audio language for French.
If that doesn’t work, then you will have to wait for Update patch v1.1.0 to become available here.

Just keep checking back once in a while for availability of the latest up to date patch.

… a new game. I already installed the patch ty. It seems like the config file with the language is on read only.

    • img
      Sep 05, 2020 @ 11:47

I don’t think that the config file alone would be the issue or the reason for why the selected audio language isn’t being saved. Even if the attributes were changed for the config file to have both read and write access, it wouldn’t make much of a difference, as the game itself still has some bugs that the developers need to work out, and hopefully with the latest patch update release of version 1.1.0, it might help to improve or fix some more issues.

Unfortunately, Patch 1.1.0 isn’t available here yet.
