State of Decay 2 Juggernaut Edition-CODEX

State of Decay 2 Juggernaut Edition-CODEX
Mar
14

State of Decay 2 is an open-world survival-fantasy game for you and up to 3 co-op friends. After a zombie apocalypse, your small group of survivors seek to rebuild a small corner of civilization, and you get to make all the decisions about how that happens.

You decide who to recruit to your team, where to settle your community, how to fortify and upgrade your base, and when it’s time to move to greener pastures. You select which survivor to bring along on a scavenging run for the food and ammo you need, and who you’ll use to fight off the zombies attacking your base. You choose how you’ll deal with other people who move into your town. Will you be friendly and welcoming… or will you aggressively defend your territory?

Every player’s experience in the game is unique. Each character in your community has their own special set of skills and traits, so no two communities are ever the same. The challenges you face also vary from game to game, based on who you recruit and the decisions you make along the way.

Undead Labs is proud to present our best-ever vision of the zombie apocalypse. Keep your eyes peeled and your weapons ready. This is one apocalypse you won’t want to miss.

Note for Simplified Chinese players: although gameplay and UI are fully translated, dialogue subtitles will not be ready by March 13 due to unforeseen circumstances. A full subtitle translation will be added in a future update. We apologize for the inconvenience.

I know… right guys?! This is a really nice and unexpected surprise. In case anyone is wondering what this “Juggernaut Edition” of State of Decay 2 includes, to sum it all up, it includes the following:
Visual and graphical improvements, enhancements, and optimizations to the game, as well as dozens of mission and gameplay bugs fixed, and an improved audio experience. In addition to this, Juggernaut Edition also includes all three add-on packs released to date: Independence Pack, Daybreak Pack, and State of Decay 2: Heartland.

More details about this Edition of the game and the source of this information comes from the developer’s own official site here: https://www.stateofdecay.com/2020/02/14/state-of-decay-2-juggernaut-edition/

State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition is the biggest and best State of Decay 2 experience. We can’t wait to share it with you on Friday, March 13.

Coincidence that this Edition of the game should happen to land on Friday the 13th ? Dun Dun Dun … !! 🙂

UPDATE: This “Juggernaut Edition” will only work and run on a Windows 10 OS environment. The same thing applies to the original version of State of Decay 2.

For users who are still on Windows 7 and do not wish to upgrade to Windows 10 simply to play this game, you have two choices, you can either install a legit copy of Windows 10 into a virtual PC environment using Oracle VM VirtualBox: https://www.virtualbox.org/
and try to play the game that way,
-OR- You can just stick to playing the first State Of Decay: Year One Edition which will run on Windows 7. (No need to be forced to upgrade to a newer OS, especially if you like the look, style, and simplicity of the graphical user interface of Windows 7 much better than the tablet like interface of Windows 10 and the constant release builds that MS pushes out).

It’s really up to the Windows 7 users to decide what they would like to do regarding this game and the ability to play it.

@Tekmarvl the juggernaut edition works fine on non windows 10 systems. already checked. the original didn’t because it was only available from the microsoft score, using an xbox/microsoft account, and that isn’t available on previous os systems. once the juggernaut edition came out and removed UWP and the need to buy from microsoft’s store, it enabled it to run on other OS systems.

UPDATE: I found something interesting out today regarding the State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition. Since this game is listed on the Steam Store to run under a Windows 10 OS environment, it peaked my interest and curiosity to read in some gaming forum threads that the game also works on Windows 7. I have not been able to physically confirm and test this out for myself on my gaming laptop with Windows 7 OS yet, but since the Game Publisher is Xbox Game Studios, and Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a game that I have already confirmed to be working on Windows 7 by the same Game Publisher, then there is a strong possibility that SOD2: Juggernaut Edition will actually work for Windows 7 users.

    • img
      Mar 16, 2020 @ 20:45

@Vincent Edward Abrah, I don’t know why the game would be looking for an update, that is rather unusual for any *cracked* game to be doing that.
Have you tried checking the option to enable the game installer to automatically copy the crack and all files from the CODEX crack folder for you?
The option to do that is in all CODEX game installers.
First, uninstall your game, then disable, turn off, or completely shutdown any anti-virus or windows defender you are using as this can interfere with and interrupt the proper process of a successful game installation, especially if your anti-virus or windows defender detects the crack and it’s files from the game installer as a false positive and starts to block or quarantine those files.
This is why Scene Release Groups put that reminder in their NFO files for the games that are released and get cracked, it’s to let others know to turn off or whitelist (tell your Anti-virus program) that the game installer and crack you are installing for the game is safe. The NFO files also include reminders to block the game’s exe in your firewall to prevent the game from
trying to go online and connect to the Steam Store. I am surprised that not more people pay attention to this and read the NFO (Information files) on this site as well as what is included with the games you download.

@eastian, If in doubt about your current Windows 10 version build and if the game will support it, you can use the online tool from System Requirements Lab here:
      https://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri

Once on the page you can type in any game such as this one into the box where it says “Search for a game”, and as you type out the game you want to test your PC system on, it will display the title of the game which you can click on to fill the Search box in. Then, click on the big blue Can You Run It button.
On the next page, do the same thing again by clicking on the big blue Can You Run It button. Depending on the type of Web browser you are using, a prompt window will come up asking you for permission to run the Java based applet tool that is the System Hardware and Software checker that exams your System Hardware Specs, and the Windows OS version you are running on, and will report back to you what it finds, as well as suggest or recommended what needs to be upgraded in terms of your Hardware, drivers, or Windows OS to meet the Minimum System Requirements for the game to be able to run.

@eastian, If all checks out, you are good to go. If anything needs updating or upgrading, then the information there from System Requirements Lab will tell in the report.
As a good measure it’s always good to keep up-to-date with the latest version build of Windows 10. The latest build version is 18363.720, commonly known as version 1909. @AJ, If you are absolutely certain that your PC meets the minimum requirements to run the game, and you have checked and confirmed this with the helpful online system hardware specifications tool (that I listed in one of my posts, two posts above yours), as well as verifying that you are indeed running on the latest build version 1909, then you may need to whitelist the game’s executable in either your Anti-virus program or Windows Defender to prevent it from blocking the cracked game exe so that the game can run properly.

Also check if your Graphics Card (PC Desktop) or GPU (PC Laptop) might need an update, and install the latest version if available. Do the same thing for your Audio drivers too.

@M.T, unless it otherwise says in the NFO at the top of this page, if you click on it to view and read it, or in the NFO file you can find that came with the game you downloaded (viewable by opening it up with Notepad or Wordpad), it will say so.
If not, then this game only supports single player in the cracked version.

I have the same problem. After my first attempt playing the game, now when i load up the game to continue it says Your save is from a future version of the game. Please update your game and try again.
I have uninstalled, stopped all ant virus software, re-installed, blocked in my fire wall. Everything you listed and I still get that problem.
I have almost 100 games installed and only this game is giving me problems.
Hope you can help. Thanks 🙂

      Mar 18, 2020 @ 00:20

@Yuma, I have checked the App IDs for both the original State of Decay 2, and the Juggernaut Edition on the Steam Database, and it shows that the App ID for both versions of the game, Old and New share the same ID which is: 495420. You can check and verify the game’s App ID for both versions here: https://steamdb.info/search/?a=app&q=state+of+decay+2&type=-1&category=0

Here is what I suggest that you can try. If you have the older version of State of Decay 2 installed on your main drive, or any other drives, you will need to uninstall that first before you attempt to play the newer Juggernaut Edition.
If you don’t have the older version of State of Decay 2 installed, then you probably had it installed at one point in time but later had removed it. If that is the case, then you will need to open up your Windows Registry, and remove all entries that are related to State of Decay 2. When you install anything on your PC, including games, Windows Registry keeps a log of it all. To remove something out of the Registry that you no longer have installed, you will need to edit and remove those entries for that particular game that relates to it.

      CONTINUED IN NEXT POST…

    • img
      Mar 18, 2020 @ 01:07

@Yuma, from your Windows Start Menu type Run into the search box, and press Enter on your keyboard. In the Run prompt window, type regedit, and press Enter on your keyboard.
This will open up the Windows Registry Editor. Once you are inside of the Windows Registry Editor, press the F3 key on your keyboard to have the Find prompt window appear.
In the Find prompt window, type State of Decay 2 (you can type this out in all lowercase, it doesn’t matter), and make sure that Keys, Values, and Data are all check marked. Then click on the Find Next button.

Windows Registry Editor will now search for all entries that are related to State of Decay 2. If it finds anything, it will display it, and if it doesn’t produce any results it won’t show anything.
Please allow for a few minutes for the search to complete, and don’t cancel out on it, let it finish.
If the search produces results you can click on the first results entries which will be highlighted in blue, and will be displayed in the main window. From here you can see the details of what’s listed. You can delete the entry in two ways, by clicking on the Del (Delete button) on your keyboard, or by right-clicking your mouse button on (Default) from the main window of the Registry Editor.

Press the F3 key on your keyboard to continue searching again for the next entry, and delete it. Keep doing this search for the next entry this way, until the Registry Editor tells you that it’s finished searching. At times during your search, it will highlight folders in the registry that relates to your search. Double check and make sure that the folder that you delete from the left pane in Windows Registry corresponds to the thing you originally searched for. You do not want to make any mistakes in deleting the wrong thing (as this is very important when working inside of your Windows Registry). Once you are done with removing all the entries that were found relating to State of Decay 2, you can safely close Windows Registry through File > Exit, and then restart your PC. After the Restart, try running your game and see if you have the same issues.

@PamPam, have you confirmed that you are indeed running the latest version build of Windows 10, and that you are up to date with your Graphics Card driver?
If so, can you list your Windows 10 version build here, as well as the version of your Graphics Card (NVIDIA or AMD) that you are using.

Have you checked your system’s PC hardware specs with the free online tool from System Requirements Lab that you can find here: https://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri
to see if it supports the minimum system requirements of the game.
Are all essential Windows Updates up to date on your PC, when was the last time that you ran Windows Updates?

Do you have another PC Desktop or Laptop that you can install the game to, and test it on to see if it will work?

If none of these suggestions I’ve made help you in your current situation, then the best you can try is to either wait until CODEX releases an update that might fix some existing bugs in the game such as with what you mentioned, or the alternative would be to simply purchase the game from a Digital store like Steam, where you are guaranteed updates and patches to fix bug related issues.

@Vincent Edward Abrah, it’s not an error per say, it’s just letting you know what you need to do. In this case, to help prevent the game from trying to go online, open your Windows Start Menu, and in the Search box type: windows firewall

Under Control Panel, the part where it says, Allow a program through Windows Firewall, click on it. In the window that comes up for your Windows Firewall, use the slider to scroll down to find the entry for the game: State of Decay 2 or State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition. Click on it to select it, then click on the Remove button to remove that entry. Click on OK at the bottom of the Windows Firewall window to save you changes, then close the open window.

      Now try running the game.

Getting the XBOX LIVE VALIDATION FAILED message. Was working fine before, now refuses to run. I read somewhere to remove windows credentials (XBL) entries from there. Does nothing. Copied crack over multiple time, just in case of overwrites.

    Game broken…. Await fix?

      Mar 18, 2020 @ 02:54

@Se7en, if you manually copied the crack from the CODEX folder including the cracked executable and all the associated files from that folder, you might have missed something essential that you forgot to copy.
Another possibility is that either your Anti-virus or Windows Defender is blocking and preventing the cracked game executable from being run, and if that is the case, then you need to go into your Anti-virus program or Windows Defender to whitelist (allow the program), so that it isn’t being flagged as a false positive by these two programs or any other defensive program you may be running on your system.

You may also want to uninstall the game, (don’t worry, any saved progress you made will be saved in the game’s app folder which you can find here: %SystemDrive%\Users\Public\Documents\Steam\CODEX\495420
Then, just run the game installer again, and select the option that shows: Copy crack from CODEX folder to installdir (or something similar to that effect), and let the installer copy the crack and it’s associated files, as well as all game data to the drive and directory path of your choice.

After the installation completes, try running your game again.

I will give it a try, however I don’t think it will make much difference. I don’t have windows defender active (disabled_service) and my AV is already trained to allow sod2 executable. There have been cases of legit copies showing the same error message (gamefaq) I think its just broken and requires a patch from devs.

Thanks for the help anyway If it does work, I’ll post back here.

      Mar 18, 2020 @ 06:03

@bruno gabriel dos, why does the question of multiplayer for cracked games keep getting asked over and over all the time?
To save yourself the time of asking if it has multiplayer before you download the game, look at this game pages NFO at the top of the page. Click on it, view it, read it please.
If it doesn’t mention anything there about a patch for multiplayer for this cracked game, then it doesn’t have it.

If you want multiplayer, the only way you are going to get it, is if you buy the game.

@Fac, Please have a look at and read the two posts I made in reply to the Guest: Yuma. He reported the same exact issue as you are having.
Apparently, as I had mentioned to Yuma, the Newer version of State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition uses the same game app ID as the original older version of State of Decay 2 does.

To help remedy this problem, if you have the older version of the game installed (The original State of Decay 2) on your PC, you will need to uninstall it first, before you play the Juggernaut Edition.
If you don’t have the original State of Decay 2 installed on your PC, but you did at one point in time, a record of anything that you install stays in your Windows Registry, and the only way to remove it is by editing the Windows Registry using the Registry Editor. I have outlined the safest way to do this, which again as I mentioned, you will find in the two posts that I made in reply to the Guest: Yuma.

TO ALL GUESTS AND MEMBERS: I am reporting here my experience with running and testing out State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition (CODEX), which I tested on my gaming laptop with the following system hardware specs:
    ASUS ROG: G751JM
    Windows 7 Ultimate with SP1 Build 7601.
    x64-based PC
    Intel Core i7-4710HQ CPU @ 2.50GHz, 2501 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processors (Overclocked to 3.50GHz).
NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 860M GPU (Full Specifications of GPU here: https://www.geforce.com/hardware/notebook-gpus/geforce-gtx-860m/specifications).
    16 GB RAM

My laptop falls within the minimum system requirements for this game, and slightly exceeds it to be able to play the game smoothly on medium settings under the game’s advanced video settings.

During the installation of the game on my Windows 7 OS, I set the option for allowing the game installer to install the crack and associated files from the CODEX folder automatically for me, which it did, along with the successful installation of all the game data for the game.

I do not use Windows Defender, but I do have an AV which I use and have allowed the cracked game executable to be whitelisted, so that my AV does not detect it as a false positive and tries to block or quarantine it. My Firewall is also set to prevent the game from trying to go online.

During my short play through of the Heartland (the Story Campaign), I selected both Quincy (a cop) and Helena (an ex-con) to start the game with. I made it up to the point of where I was tasked with a mission to search out for a survivor at a well known church location that was also featured in the first State of Decay: Year One Edition.
I only encountered one minor issue within the game that was easily fixable. It’s not even a bug, as I have seen some people in other gaming forums report. If you happen to find your character moving around sporadically (like he or she is hopped up on drugs), while you run in a straight line or you sprint, you may find your character start to spaz and jerk around uncontrollably.
This comes down to your Graphics Card, or GPU (for laptops) and it’s capability of what it is able to handle in terms of processing all the game’s graphics at a High level. So if your Graphics card or GPU isn’t at least a 1080 Ti or greater, you’re better off going into the game’s settings, and setting the default to be all Medium or all Low under the Advanced Video settings.

Apart from this, I have not encountered any of the reported issues here with Xbox Live Validation Failed messages, or any save file issues that ask you to update the game.
This install of State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition (CODEX), is a fresh, clean install, and I have never had or installed the original State of Decay 2 on my laptop before.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL GUESTS AND MEMBERS: Please check the SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS at the top of this page by “Clicking On It”. It’s there for a reason, and you can find that on just about every game that is listed on this site.
You don’t need to have a high end or even expensive gaming PC to play most of the games here, but what you do need to keep in mind, is that some of the games that you want to play require you to have at least an i5 or an i7 core processor (for those Users who have Intel Core Processors for their CPUs in their machines). Users with AMD based CPUs, you still need to have a CPU that closely matches or exceeds what is listed in the game’s own minimum system requirements.
Your Graphics Card (for Desktop PC), or GPU (for Laptop PC), if either NIVIDIA or GPU, needs to also match or exceed what is listed in the game’s own minimum system requirements.

A lot of people fall under the notion that if one game works on their PC, then all future games must work flawlessly too. This is not the case at all, as there are many factors involved when it comes down to your own Hardware, the game’s own Minimum System Requirements, what Windows OS and builds it will run on, and how well the game itself has been optimized in terms of the game developers fixing and patching all possible bugs they could find during the development of the game before it’s initial release.

So, if you aren’t certain about whether a game will run well enough on your PC, or even run at all, the safest place to start and to save yourself some time, is to look at the game’s own requirements. Check it on this site here, or check it online from a digital retailer like Steam, etc., don’t just make assumptions. Be informed about it, and know what your PC can run, and what it can’t.

I tried to reinstall the game, and it did launch correctly the first time. But when I tried to launch the game again it failed with the ‘Requires valid xbox live account’ message.

So I went to where the save games are, and deleted the entire folder and tried to run the game again, and it worked. So I quit out and copied my old save game folder to where I deleted the other one. Same again ‘Require valid xbox game account’. I dunno whats going on here, but its something to do with that save game folder, when Its not there and the computer creates it for the first time, everything works fine. If you try to load the game again, it fails with the error message.

So I tried allowing the game to go though the firewall, and it worked, it loaded a lot faster and even my save game worked. It now works every time. I dunno what will happen because the program is able to access the net, I guess time will tell.

@Se7en, thank you for reporting back what you have tried on your PC to resolve the Xbox Live Account issue you were having with the game. I did mention to one Guest here named Yuma in reply that both the older version (original) State of Decay 2 and the new version named Juggernaut Edition both share the same game app id’s.

His particular issue was related to the game’s save folder and save file, and the game itself reporting that it needed to be updated. I had stated that the possible cause of this could be from a prior install of the older version of the game (as I have seen this sort of thing happen before when game developers release a new build, or update their game with enhanced graphics or other features that weren’t in the older version of the game), and yet Steam does not update the game with a new game ID, they just leave it the same. This sort of issue has also happened once before with the two Telltale Series Batman games when the developer had released a version for both named Shadows Edition.
CODEX had stepped in when they released their cracked versions for these new editions to the Telltale Series of Batman games to address issues that related to the two Shadow Editions having the same save folder, by providing a temporary solution to fix the problem, but later released an update fix for it, here is what they say about it:
      CODEX:
During testing we noticed both Shadows Edition games use the same save folder, what may cause the game re-download episodes even they are already there. If you have this issue, remove the save folder to fix it.. (Documents\Telltale Games\Batman The Telltale Series).

-And then later, when they released the update fix that addressed this for the two Batman Shadows Edition versions:
NOTES: This update fixes the shared save folder issue that was present in the origianl version of the game, the new save folder location is: Documents\Telltale Games\Batman The Enemy Within – The Telltale Series
You need the following releases for this: Batman.The.Enemy.Within.The.Telltale.Series.Shadows.Edition-CODEX

The crack game executables and associated files use a form of emulation to emulate the Steam client engine, to see what I mean by this, you can go to the crack folder named CODEX and look for steam_emu.ini (a configuration file that you can open and view with either Wordpad or Notepad). Have a look inside, and you will see what the coding attempts to do and emulate along with the help of the cracked game executable.
Sometimes it’s not necessary to block the cracked executable from attempting to go online, but since the game (especially if it is running under a Steam Emulated Client), allows you to play the game in an offline condition without trying to attempt to connect to the Steam Network through Windows Firewall. Other times, you may have to allow the cracked game executable to connect through your Firewall, for the game to work properly, but you will still be in an offline state.

        @Max, the game’s savegame folder can be found at this location: C: > Users > Public > Documents > Steam > CODEX > 495420

All your actual autosaves and gamesaves for the game are stored here at this location: C: > Users > (Your Name) > AppData > Local > StateOfDecay2 > Saved > SaveGames > 8877665544332222 > Release > v2

To get to that directory where your autosaves and gamesaves are, open your Windows Start Menu, type into the Search box: run

In the Run command prompt, type the following: %appdata%

To avoid repeating myself on things that I may or may not have covered in the most recent and prior posts that I have made to address as many game related issues as I possibly could for reported problems with the game when attempting to play it on your own PC’s, I will simply say this, “Please look through my posts and replies, you may find something useful there that can help you resolve your current game issue(s).
You can easily find all my posts and replies here in one of two ways, depending on the type of Web Browser you are using. Either Press Ctrl + F on your keyboard at the same time to open a search box, and type in my Username to search all the posts that I have made here or you can even press the F3 key on your keyboard to perform a search too this way.

If you still don’t see anything among my posts that could help with your current gaming issue, then have a look at the posts that were made by the Guest User: Se7en
You can search for this Guest Users posts by using the same method as I mentioned above in how to easily search through specific posts made by someone.
The Guest User: Se7en has made a recent posting to address how he went about fixing an issue with the game when attempting to launch it, and getting “Requires valid xbox live account”.
Please read his posting, as it has a workable solution to this problem.

In closing, I would like to address to you all, that I will not be offering any further suggestions, advice, or possible resolutions to what could work or does not work for some of you with regards to this game and your own PC Hardware Setups, it would be virtually impossible for me to address every issue, every concern, and every question that gets asked. I am only one person, and I do this voluntarily to help you guys help yourselves to get a better understanding of your own System Hardware Specs, and why things may or may not work, and some of the things you can try to help yourselves to get it to work.

If all else fails, there are still some things you can try to help yourselves out, like trying it on a different PC (if you have another PC at home you can use), that supports or exceeds the game’s own minimum system hardware requirements, wait for CODEX to release any updates that this game may have to fix some issues, buy the game from Steam when it goes on sale, or upgrade your PC if you can afford to do so with at least an i5 or i7 CPU, and a graphics card or GPU with a good, sizeable amount of Video Ram from either NVIDIA or AMD that is at least a 1080 Ti or greater to support the latest games you want to play.

    • img
      Mar 20, 2020 @ 23:30

@shadow666, There are four places you can check that can answer that question for you.

      1) Go to this game directory path: State of Decay 2 Juggernaut Edition > Engine > Binaries > ThirdParty > Steamworks > Steamv132 > Win64
Open steam_emu.ini with Windows Notepad or Wordpad, and scroll down to the bottom of where it shows [DLC]. Look at what’s listed there for DLC content and what’s been unlocked.

      2) Look at the codex.nfo on this site or the one that was supplied with the game, open it with Notepad or Wordpad. What do the notes there say about the Juggernaut Edition?

3)Go to the game page on the Steam Store for the Juggernaut Edition, what does it shows for the DLC listed there?

      4) Have a look at the official game developer’s website for all the listed DLC included for the Juggernaut Edition and scroll down the page to where it shows “ALL DLC INCLUDED here:
      https://www.stateofdecay.com/2020/03/10/juggernaut-edition-patch-notes/

doesn’t answer my question really. i’m asking if there’s a way to include the pre-order content packs with this edition. they were included in the older state of decay 2 release on skidrow. wondering if it’s possible to add them to this release somehow

        • img
          Mar 22, 2020 @ 00:35

@shadow666, I don’t think that it would be possible to get those pre-order bonus packs into the Juggernaut Edition of the game. Even if it were possible, it would have to be on the sole decision of Undead Labs, the developers of the game to include it.

If there was a way to somehow include the pre-order bonus packs from the original version of State of Decay 2, then it would probably have to be worked on to match the graphic enhancements and improvements that the Juggernaut Edition already has. Then CODEX would need to work on a crack for that pre-order bonus content to work on the cracked version of the Juggernaut Edition.

          I hope that helps.

@BGZ, I’m not sure I understand what you are asking. Are you saying that you have the original Steam game, and you are using the crack with it?
Or, did you install the cracked version of the Juggernaut Edition, and then decided to buy the actual game which you are using now?

If you are running and using the store bought Steam game with the crack from CODEX because of the DRM, and just want to change the account name that shows up in your game, I can show you how to do that.

    • img
      Mar 23, 2020 @ 01:12

@Bruno1, You will need to do the following if you haven’t done so already:

      1) Make sure that you have completely uninstalled the cracked CODEX version of the Juggernaut Edition using the game uninstaller, or go to Windows Control Panel > Add / Remove Programs to uninstall it from there before you start to play the original Steam bought game. If you have already done this, move on to the next step.

      2) Go to the following folders if they exist on your PC and delete both, the first folder directory path is the game ID folder that contains the player profile, and the second directory path you see is the one that is linked to the first with the player profile information for the game, so you will need to delete both of them:

The game’s savegame folder can be found at this location: C: > Users > Public > Documents > Steam > CODEX > 495420

All your actual autosaves and gamesaves for the game are stored here at this location: C: > Users > (Your Name) > AppData > Local > StateOfDecay2 > Saved > SaveGames > 8877665544332222 > Release > v2

To get to that directory where your autosaves and gamesaves are, open your Windows Start Menu, type into the Search box: run
and then press the Enter key on your keyboard.
In the Run command prompt, type the following: %appdata%
and press the Enter key on your keyboard.
Navigate to the directory path and folder listed above from the AppData folder.

Restart your PC after deleting the two folders from the two directory paths listed above.
When your PC boots back into Windows, start up your Steam Client and sign in with your Steam Username and Password. Make sure that the Steam Client is set to Online mode, and then go to your library of games from within the Steam Client browser window, and launch your store bought Steam version of Juggernaut Edition. When you start the game you should see your own username that is associated with your Steam account. If not, try changing it in the profile settings of the game. If that still does not work, then exit the game to the Desktop, and go to your open Steam Client, and then go to your library of games. Right-click on the Juggernaut Edition > Properties > Click on the Local Files tab > Click on VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME FILES.

Allow Steam to verify your installation of your Steam bought game, and the account that it is linked to which should be your account. If any files from your installation of the game are missing or need to be fixed, it will download it only if it needs to.
After Steam is done with verifying the installation of your game linked to your own account, you can launch your game from the Steam Client. You should now see your own username in the profile of the game, or be able to change it from the game settings.

You will need to keep the Steam Client in Online mode if you wish to play in a multiplayer or LAN type environment (Multiplayer isn’t supported by the cracked version). To play Offline for Single Player Campaign, > Steam > Go Offline > Restart Steam.

I found the solution for the “Requires valid xbox live account”. I had to allow the connection to 127.0.0.1 using my firewall (I used the rule “blocked application” before). So if you guys using comodo firewall like me and set it to “blocked application”, delete the rule from comodo, start the game and on comodo notification, you’ll see it tries to connect to 127.0.01, select “allow”. Then you can edit the rule to “Allow IP Out from MAC Any to IP 127.0.0.1 Where protocol is any” to be safe. Or leave it as it is just like Se7en did.

I played the CODEX version and now I bought the game on steam. Please explain to me, how can I change my profile name from CODEX to something else? The game tells me to use the “=” key but that doesnt work (I have German version). I tried all other keys and none will let me change my profile. What can I do?

if you have Steam running in the background close it. It somehow messes with the controller settings in non-steam games.

Hi Codex, are you working on update 18.1? Update 18 breaks the game in a bad way. After a few hours of play with a community, the game save gets corrupted which causes the game to crash shortly after you load your save. I already confirmed with my Steam copy which got updated to 18.1 that the game save works fine, so it’s not permanent damage at least which will be a big relief.

After 24+ hours in the game had 1 finished community and almost 2, we had a power surge and after the computer rebooted, apparently that f*cked up my save and got corrupted. I got the error from most guys that says “your save file is from a future version of the game” or whatever, and when i find and opened the saveuser.sav in State of Decay 2 save folder using notepad++ it was all a long ass “null”. I compared it to a fresh one and it is entirely different because the fresh one has texts related to the game like outfits and stuff. Anyone already found fix on this one?

I can download and play successfully. However, I cannot seem to turn on Host Multiplayer Game. It says ‘issue with account privileges, please check internet and try again later’. May I know how to solve this issue please? Do I really need to purchase the STEAM version to be able to play multiplayer with friends??
