    CD Projekt Red has been putting in the work to fix up their game and improve on it for all platforms, which is why we’ve received yet another update for Cyberpunk 2077, Update 1.06!

    With more updates and bug fixes now arriving, here’s what we know about Cyberpunk Update 1.06.

    Release Date
    Cyberpunk Update 1.06 is now LIVE!
    You can download it now on the platform of your choice, whether it’s PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, or PC.

    Patch Notes
    CD Projekt Red have finally released the Update 1.06 patch notes, and while they’re light, they offer some important general fixes.

    PATCH IT OUT – The highest priority of the study will be to reduce as many errors as possible
    You can read over the Cyberpunk 2077 Update 1.06 Patch Notes below:

    Quests:
    Dum Dum will no longer go missing from Totentanz entrance during Second Conflict.
    Console-specific

    Improved memory management and stability, resulting in fewer crashes.
    PC-specific

    Removed the 8 MB save file size limit. Note: this won’t fix save files corrupted before the update.
    We expected Update 1.06 to come in January, but an earlier release means this Cyberpunk patch is understandably light in terms of overall content.

    File Size
    Cyberpunk Update 1.06 is 18.8 GB on PS4, and this sizing is likely similar across the board like previous patches.

    This means it’s a significant download that will likely take you over an hour on consoles.

    Problem(s) here:

    Issue #1
    patch cannot find game. I solved this by adding to the registry what Anon posted above.

    Issue #2
    Patch error that the game version is incorrect (game was 1.05)
    Fixed this by going to the registry again:
    buildId = “53968439607309789”
    ver = “Build_3233390Change_4173226”
    now the patch will install

    after the patch is installed the registry will read:
    buildId = “53975132558190849”
    ver = “Build_3235023Change_4177747”

    Issue #3
    After the patch is installed, the game still says 1.05 in the main menu!

    Anyone else having this?

    It is a modification from the DYRO patcher 1.04 to 1.05, from this link:

    https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/13p3vpYYX7yWjNbVWAAfgZePcfqmqq-TJ

    Edit those 2 lines in the bat file and be happy.

    %SYSTEMROOT%\System32\reg.exe add “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\GOG.com\Games\1423049311” /v “buildId” /d “53968439607309789” /f>nul
    %SYSTEMROOT%\System32\reg.exe add “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\GOG.com\Games\1423049311” /v “ver” /d “Build_3233390Change_4173226” /f>nul

    I’ve personally edited dyro file to solve the problem in the 1,05 to 1,06.

    Merry XMAS

    @Anonimous,

    I don’t know where you got that Build ID version from, but it’s not for the current Build ID for v1.06 Update Patch or the prior v1.05 either.

    You do however have the version number in your line of code correct for v1.05 patch though, as that is what it corresponds to.

    Please check and test your own code, before you post here, and offer a solution.

    Thanks.

    ::: GUESTS AND MEMBERS :::
    ::: CONCERNING A REGISTRY BATCH FOR V1..06 :::

    I have recently made a registry batch fix for v1.06 that has the CORRECT BUILD ID and VERSION CHANGE NUMBER for v1.06.

    It is in the form of a Window Batch file that must be run directly from the Cyberpunk 2077 folder. (This means that you need to run it from inside of the game directory folder of: Cyberpunk 2077).

    If you place the Windows Batch file anywhere else, it will not work properly.

    I will upload it here SOON, so that everyone has the opportunity of using it to fix the errors that they are getting when applying Update Patch v1.06 to their base game with the prior v1.05.

    All I ask for in RETURN, is everyone’s PATIENCE and UNDERSTANDING, as I FINALIZE testing on my own PC to ensure that the Registry Batch for v1.06 is working as it should.

    PLEASE ALLOW FOR A GOOD 30 MINUTES TO 1 FULL HOUR, before you see the Registry Batch for v1.06 here.

    When I have thoroughly tested it and ensured that it is working the way it should be, I will post it in this game thread.

    ::: REGISTRY BATCH FOR V1..06 :::
    ::: TESTED AND CONFIRMED WORKING :::

    So here it is everyone, the Registry Batch for v1.06 that I put together and made a Windows Batch file for.
    *** Sorry about the delay in time, but I had to test and make sure it was working. Also, a Man has to Eat, so there’s that too. : P : ) ***

    Please read the included Instructions – READ ME.txt before you start using the Registry Batch for v1.06. It contains really important information on what needs to be done first, and in what order it needs to be done in.

    Do not skip over anything in the: Instructions – READ ME.txt. If you fail to read it, or neglect or dismiss what is clearly being said in the included: Instructions – READ ME.txt, and you unfortunately happen to mess something up for yourself due to not following instructions, I can not and will not be held responsible for your mishap.

      @RiceScum1,

      Are you using any current Mods of any kind that make changes to .archive files in the following directory path:
      X:\Cyberpunk 2077\archive\pc\content
      (Where X would represent the drive letter of your HDD or SSD of where your game was installed to).

      If so, then you need to uninstall or temporarily remove any Mods you may be using, before you start to apply any patches to your base game, as the game itself needs to be in an unmodified state.
      After the Update Patches have been successfully applied, then you can put back, install the Mods (if any) that were used for your game.

      Also, if you currently are at v1.05 and can verify this in your main game menu of Cyberpunk 2077, by looking at the bottom left corner where the version number would be displayed, you may have to also confirm whether or not you are actually using a pure GOG version, a pre-loaded version, or the STEAM to GOG converted version.

      Whichever version I just mentioned above that you may have, you may need to apply the Registry Batch for version 1.05 first, before you can apply the Update Patch v1.06.
      Plus the Update Patch here, only works as mentioned up top of this game thread, for the GOG version of the game only.

        Dec 25, 2020 @ 05:21

        @tekmarvl i did follow ur instruction and i got “update already installed” instead but the game version in the menu is still 1.05

  • img
    Dec 25, 2020 @ 05:27

    @RiceScum1,

    Okay, let me try to clear something up so I can get a full understanding of what it is you are telling me. You just recently said the following:
    “it said update already installed but after i open the game it still on 1.05”

    If the GOG Patcher is now saying that the Update is already installed, and you ran the Update Patch for v1.06, it means that you don’t need to run it again.

    What you should do now, is get the ::: REGISTRY BATCH FOR V1..06 ::: from my post with the zippyshare link it, if you haven’t done so already.

    Read the Instructions – READ ME.txt that I included with it. It will tell you how to use it, and where it needs to go and be run from.
    This should help fix any errors and issues you have been having with applying the Update Patch v1.06.

      I installed this 1.06 update on 1.05 version and it said the install completed successfully but the game starts with the following error message, actually it still works but sound is not working, in this case should I also use your batch file?

    @RiceScum1,

    Can you please take a screenshot for me, and upload it to an image host. Post the Image URL link here for me to see of your game directory that should show my Windows Batch file for v1.06:
    X:\Cyberpunk 2077
    (Where X would represent the drive letter of your HDD or SSD of where your game was installed to).

    I will then be able to get a clearer picture of what is going on, so I can assist you further with your current issue.

    Dec 25, 2020 @ 05:40

    @tekmarvl like i said i did follow ur instruction including that bat file thingamajig which result in the “update already installed”, before i follow your instruction when i try to install the patch it said “this patch does not support your version of the game please download a new installer” instead but after i apply your method it became “update already installed” but like i said the game menu still said my game version is still 1.05, oh btw after i extracted the download patch from this page the file name is patch_cyberpunk_2077_1.05_(43550)_to_Build_3235023Change_4177747_(43605).exe as u can see the file itself is 1.05 and not 1.06, i tried other download but they all have the same file which is probably why this patch doesn’t work

    @RiceScum1,

    Thanks for letting me know in detail of what the issue now is. Let me check the link here on the site from what’s provided here for Update v1.06 first.

    Don’t go anywhere, stick around, and I will be with you shortly, I need to confirm this for myself. Thanks.

    @RiceScum1,

    Yes, you are right, I just downloaded from Megaup.net and what is supposed to be Update Patch v1.06 is actually v1.05.

    Here is where you can get the REAL Update Patch v1.06 from:
    https://pastebin.com/zPau981s

    Remember, that you need to apply Update Patch v1.06 first, and then use my Windows Batch file afterwards, and then you should be good to go.

    Sorry about the oversight for the wrong Update Patch not being the correct one for Update v1.06, I’m not the one who oversees what gets uploaded here on the site.

    I’m just a Member here like you who helps out whenever I can, and offers tips and trouble-shooting for game related issues.

      @RiceScum1,

          @ricescum1,

          Yes that is the same version as the one found here on this site, which has the correct Build ID number and version change number for v1.06 of the Update Patch.

          You can confirm that with what I had already posted in one of my posts with the title:

    :::: GUESTS AND MEMBERS :::
    ::: REGARDING THE INCORRECT UPDATE PATCH HERE IN THIS GAME THREAD :::

    I REDACT and take back what I said earlier about the Update Patch here in this thread being the wrong version. Having another look, it is indeed the correct version 1.06.

    Proof of that can also be found in the game’s Build ID version here:
    https://www.gogdb.org/product/1423049311#builds

    Proof can also be found in the Registry Batch for v1.06 I made if you right click on the: cyberpunk_2077_gog_reg_v1.06.bat
    and you click on Edit, which will open it up into Notepad for you to view the lines of code contained within the Windows Batch file.

    If you look at the 5th Row of codes that start at :ADD
    and you follow your eye down to these two lines of code in my Windows Batch file:
    %SYSTEMROOT%\System32\reg.exe add “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\GOG.com\Games\1423049311” /v “buildId” /d “53975132558190849” /f >nul
    %SYSTEMROOT%\System32\reg.exe add “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\GOG.com\Games\1423049311” /v “ver” /d “Build_3235023Change_4177747” /f >nul

    You can clearly see and match that together with the current Update Patch v1.06 from this game thread which has the one setup and bin file shown here that is a total of 512 MB uncompressed:
    patch_cyberpunk_2077_1.05_(43550)_to_Build_3235023Change_4177747_(43605).exe
    patch_cyberpunk_2077_1.05_(43550)_to_Build_3235023Change_4177747_(43605)-1.bin

    You can also match it up with what is on Build ID link above that I also included in the first URL link for confirmation.

    My sincere apologies @skidrowcodex
    (Can you tell I’m overworked) … that’s what troubleshooting issues with this game does to you. :p

    @ricescum1 and @kof1981, and to everyone else.

    Since you have already applied Update Patch v1.06, go to the following game directory:
    X:\Cyberpunk 2077
    (Substitute X for your own drive letter for where the game was installed to).

    Next, Right-click on: cyberpunk_2077_gog_reg_v1.06.bat
    then click on Run as administrator.

    Now, press 2 for Delete to remove the registry entry in Windows Registry.

    Close the Windows Batch file when prompted to do so.

    Right click on: cyberpunk_2077_gog_reg_v1.06.bat
    then click on Run as administrator.

    This time Press 1 to Add the Registry Batch fix to your Windows Registry for v1.06.

    Close the Windows Batch file when prompted to do so.

    Now launch your game and check the version number in your main game menu.

    If you still have any issues after this, drop me a line.

    Send me a PM, and I will get to you as soon as possible.

    Thanks guys!

        @kof1981,

        I have another thing that we can try.

        I suspect that your Windows Registry may still have leftover traces of the prior v1.05 Update Patch left over.

        So if you can bear with me for a little while, I will upload my Registry Batch fix for v1.05 that should clear out those entries from your Windows Registry for the game.

        Then after that, you should be able to properly use my Registry Batch for v1.06 (which you already have).

      So it’s making sure to delete any 1.05 leftover and add 1.06 batch, I exactly tried like you said, but still the same. Here’s when it crashes:

        @kof1981,

        That is a strange issue. Let’s try this approach:

        Go back to your v1.06 batch file inside of your X:\Cyberpunk 2077
        game folder and Right-click on: cyberpunk_2077_gog_reg_v1.06.bat
        and then click on Run as administrator.

        Press 2 to Delete the entries from Windows Registry for v1.06 Patch.

        Now, go to the folder where you are keeping the GOG Patcher for Update v1.06.
        The contents should look exactly like the following below with one setup.exe and one bin file:
        patch_cyberpunk_2077_1.05_(43550)_to_Build_3235023Change_4177747_(43605).exe
        patch_cyberpunk_2077_1.05_(43550)_to_Build_3235023Change_4177747_(43605)-1.bin

        Run: patch_cyberpunk_2077_1.05_(43550)_to_Build_3235023Change_4177747_(43605).exe

        Let the GOG Patcher start to Update, this could take a good 20 – 30 Minutes or More. It shouldn’t say that it has already been patched, since you had removed the entries from your Windows Registry for v1.06 in the prior steps above using: cyberpunk_2077_gog_reg_v1.06.bat
        to delete those entries.

        Wait until you see that Updating has successfully completed, or if you get a message to check your Patch_Log for errors message, or updating has failed message, you can close the GOG Patcher, but don’t do this unless you see one of those messages I listed above.

        Then go back to your X:\Cyberpunk 2077
        game folder and Right-click on: cyberpunk_2077_gog_reg_v1.06.bat
        and then click on Run as administrator.

        Now, press 1 to ADD the Registry Batch fix for v1.06 to your Windows Registry.

        Go and launch your game now, and check your version number from the main game menu.

        Let me know if that works.

        I’m calling it a day for now, but I will be back here later to check on progress.

        So please let me know here or through Private Message, to let me know if this solution worked for you.
        Thanks!

          Hi, I tried to run GOG patcher for update 1.06 again and this time it says “game install not found, please reinstall”. Probably this is because I had removed the entries and it doesn’t recognize the game directory. Not only this time but I always wondered, is there a way to change game directory for GOG patcher? Also if this patcher can’t recognize the game now, then I believe future patchers will be the same and reinstalling this game will be a pain.

            @kof1981,

            When you got the message from the GOG Patcher for update 1.06 saying “game install not found, please reinstall”, did you do this step immediately after?:

            Then go back to your X:\Cyberpunk 2077
            game folder and Right-click on: cyberpunk_2077_gog_reg_v1.06.bat
            and then click on Run as administrator.

            Now, press 1 to ADD the Registry Batch fix for v1.06 to your Windows Registry.

            Go and launch your game now, and check your version number from the main game menu.

            There is no way to change the directory path of where the game is installed to using the GOG Patcher, it is an automatic process that will look for the game installation path of which drive it was originally installed to.

            So the process that I was trying to help you create, was to try and apply the Patch 1.06 first from the GOG Patcher to see what kind of message it would generate, and then to go back to your X:\Cyberpunk 2077 (game folder) and run the cyberpunk_2077_gog_reg_v1.06.bat and then click on Run as administrator.

            Then, press 1 to ADD the Registry Batch fix for v1.06 to your Windows Registry, which should fix the issue with applying the patch 1.06.

            My GOG version of the game is a total: 59.2 GB and the Registry Batch for v1.06 that I made worked for me after I had applied patch v1.06 from the GOG Patcher.

            I also mentioned that if you had any Mods installed for the game, you should remove or uninstall them first, and then install it back once patch 1.06 and the Registry Batch for 1.06 were applied successfully.

            It may just be your version of the Game that you are using that is giving you trouble, and if it is what I suspect it to be, then if you are interested, I can upload my own patched version to a fast file host.
            You can Private Message Me since you are a Member. Click on my name to send me a message, put in a subject line to let me know that you would like my patched version of the game that is already at 1.06.

            For backing up your game save, you can find the game save location here:
            C:\Users\YOUR NAME GOES HERE\Saved Games\CD Projekt Red\Cyberpunk 2077

            So when you back up your game saves, they need to be put back in the exact location of what you see above.
            To ensure that you don’t mess anything up with backing up your saves, you can just copy the entire CD Projekt Red folder at the end of that Saved Games directory path, and make a note to yourself that this is your game save backup for Cyberpunk 2077.

      @Anonimous,

      What are you talking about?

      I just pointed out that in your line of code the version change number is for v1.05 and not for 1.06

      I kindly asked you to check your code, which you did not do. I also gave you a reference point for where you could look to confirm that information, and then you say that I am trying to minimod you?

      Are you for real?

      Think you could have picked a better username as well.

      @Anonimous,

      At least I am making an effort with troubleshooting issues that are related to this game, and what exactly is it that you are doing?

      Another Member here besides myself, by the name of Skydweller75 even pointed out the errors in your own lines of code here:

      “Problem(s) here:

      Issue #1
      patch cannot find game. I solved this by adding to the registry what Anon posted above.

      Issue #2
      Patch error that the game version is incorrect (game was 1.05)
      Fixed this by going to the registry again:
      buildId = “53968439607309789”
      ver = “Build_3233390Change_4173226”
      now the patch will install

      after the patch is installed the registry will read:
      buildId = “53975132558190849”
      ver = “Build_3235023Change_4177747”

      Issue #3
      After the patch is installed, the game still says 1.05 in the main menu!

      Anyone else having this?”

      So let me ask you this @Anonimous, what exactly did you do to help out @Skydweller75 exactly?….

      Oh, that’s right, nothing. You didn’t even bother to check your own lines of code to confirm that there were errors in it, and that it wouldn’t work for v1.06.

    @RiceScum1

    I was running into the the same problems “game not installed” and “game already updated”
    Here is how i got the update to work:

    Run the registry batch file for 1.05
    Add the files
    close the registry batch file
    THEN I was able to run the updater to go to 1.06

    I ran the game and the menu reads 1.06 so i just stopped there.
    I saved the registry batch file for 1.06 incase i run into the same issue on the next update.

    Thank you so much for your work and your time helping us get it @tekmarvl

      @folia,

      Thank you for the kind words.

      Your method will work quite well for those who have the CODEX (STEAM) version and use the STEAM to GOG converter, then follow the steps as you outlined in your own post in the patching process.

      With so many variations and ways to patch the game, it’s a little tasking to get things to work to right when applying patches to the Two different choices you have to go with, STEAM or GOG.

      Happy Holidays to you and yours by the way!

    Could you please re-upload the bat file for v1.06 again, your zippy file is unavailable.
    When I try to update from 1.05 to 1.06 (Gog) it says that Game Installation is not Found. Please Reinstall. So I’m assuming the bat file fixes that?

      @Don Quixote,

      I have re-upped both v1.05 and v1.06 registry batch fixes.

      You should get both from the following links to fix the issue you are having with running patch v1.06 for the GOG version of Cyberpunk 2077.

      The links are below along with instructions on what to do, please follow them as listed.

      ::: Registry Batch Fix for v1.05 (to apply before running the Update v1.06-GOG patch) :::
      Download Link:
      https://www114.zippyshare.com/v/GnGf7yOs/file.html

      ::: Registry Batch Fix for v1.06 (to be used only if you encounter problems or have errors when running the Update v1.06-GOG patch). :::
      Download Link:
      https://www119.zippyshare.com/v/xE9EDDKd/file.html

      ::: Instructions On Usage Of The Two Registry Batch Fixes :::

      1) Copy and Paste the cyberpunk_2077_gog_reg_v1.05.bat from the For Patch v1.05 folder, to your Cyberpunk 2077 folder. The Windows Batch file must go directly into the game folder of Cyberpunk 2077, and be on the drive where the game was installed to.

      2) From inside of the Cyberpunk 2077 folder, Right-click on cyberpunk_2077_gog_reg_v1.05.bat and then click on Run as administrator to run the Windows Batch file in Administrator Mode with Admin privileges.

      3) You will see the following options to choose from inside of the Windows Batch file:

      1. Add
      2. Delete
      3. Exit

      Using the Numeric Keypad (if you have one), or the keys on your PC keyboard, press 1 to make the selection to Add the correct Registry Entries to your own Windows Registry for your current version of the game which is presently at v1.05.
      This needs to be done before you can properly run and apply the patch v1.06 for the GOG version of Cyberpunk 2077.

      Once the registry entries have successfully been added to the Windows Registry, press 3 from your PC keyboard to make the selection input to close the Windows Batch file.

      Now, you can delete the cyberpunk_2077_gog_reg_v1.05.bat from the Cyberpunk 2077 game folder.

      Then, run the patch v1.06 for the GOG version of Cyberpunk 2077. Depending on the speed of both your CPU, and your HDD or SSD drive, it could take anywhere from 20 – 40 minutes or more to completely install the patch update to your game.

      ::: YOU MUST ALLOW THE UPDATE PATCH FOR V1.06-GOG TO COMPLETELY FINISH ! DO NOT CLOSE THE UPDATE INSTALLER WHILE IT IS STILL RUNNING, EVEN IF IT LOOKS LIKE IT HAS STALLED ! :::

      ::: You should not be running the game while applying my registry batch fixes, or when you run and apply the patch v1.06 for the GOG version of Cyberpunk 2077, or you could possibly corrupt your game data, or mess up the patch update process. :::

      4) When the patch v1.06 for the GOG version of Cyberpunk 2077 completely finishes and you see a message that indicates that the game was updated successfully, close the GOG Update installer, and then run Cyberpunk 2077 from either a shortcut on your Windows Desktop, or from the Windows Start Menu.

      You should see from the Game Menu: 1.06

        ::: Continued From: :::
        ::: Instructions On Usage Of The Two Registry Batch Fixes :::

        5) If everything went successfully as it should have from steps 1-4, and the game menu for Cyberpunk 2077 displays this version number: 1.06, then Congratulations ! The Game was successfully Updated and Patched !

        ::: Note: If instead you got errors or issues reported in a Game.patch log.txt file, then please read step 6 below on how to address this issue. :::
        ::: If the Game Menu does not show the updated patch version of: 1.06, please also read step 6 below. :::

        6) Follow Steps 1-2, when you get to step 3, press 2 to Delete the registry entries for v1.05 from the Windows Registry. Then when you see confirmation that the registry entries were removed, press 3 to Exit the Windows Batch file.
        You can now delete the cyberpunk_2077_gog_reg_v1.05.bat from your Cyberpunk 2077 game folder.

        Now, Copy and Paste cyberpunk_2077_gog_reg_v1.06.bat from the For Patch v1.06 folder to your Cyberpunk 2077 folder.

        Run the Windows Batch file as Administrator, and press 1 to Add the Registry Patch fix for v1.06 to your Windows Registry for the game.

        When you get confirmation that the entries were successfully added, press 3 to Exit the Windows Batch file.

        Since at this point, you have already applied the Update Patch for v1.06 from the GOG Update Installer, you do not need to run it again. Just run the game from either a Windows Desktop shortcut, or from the Start Menu for Cyberpunk 2077.

        At this point, from within the Game Menu, you should now see the updated version as: 1.06.

        ::: Please Note: :::

        The Registry Patch Fixes for both v1.05 and v1.06 that I have re-upped have a 30 day life span from the day that they were uploaded. Once they expire, they will no longer be available, so please make sure that you get both of these within that time period.

        I will not be re-upping these again past the 30 day life span of these files.

        Happy Gaming !
